Does the library have park passes for Ontario Parks?
Yep! We sure do!
The Province of Ontario and Ontario Parks started a program in 2020 to provide access to park passes via local libraries. If you have a membership with a library in your area, chances are you have access to a park pass. The parameters on borrowing vary by library but, at Essa Public Library, park passes are available for loan for one week with no renewals as supply is limited. You can place a hold on a pass as well.
You can find Ontario Park passes via our library catalogue here. Place a hold and you'll be notified when it's ready for pickup at your preferred Branch. While you're at the library, why not check out our community board for maps on local trails in the Simcoe County area. We also have guide books for trails across the Province. We've got bird watching books, information on flowers, plants, and all kinds of interesting critters you can spot in Ontario.
For more information about Ontario Parks, visit their website. Some Parks have restrictions that others don't and, if you're looking to camp, there are fees to be aware of.
