To catch up on the best reads of the season, check out these selections. The Essa Public Library regularly posts in-house displays for our patrons about a variety of topics. Below is just a few of our best picks.


Every year, CBC hosts Canada Reads, a live book debate where champions defend which Canadian book is the best. Each year, a longlist is selected and then a shortlist. Books chosen must be written by a Canadian author and are either fiction, poetry, or a play.
