Want to spruce up your reading? Try these paperclip bookmarks! This is a great activity to do from home and you likely have the supplies already. All you need is a large paperclip, felt of any colour, scissors, a hot glue gun, and a workspace.

"Leave me alone...I'm reading". – Grumpy Cat

To get started cut your felt into three strips. Two should be 2.5 inches long and 0.5 inches wide. The third should be 1.5 inches long and 0.5 inches wide. If you want your felt strips to be longer you can do so, however, if you make them smaller you might have trouble putting the bookmark together.

Mark the centre of the longer pieces with a pen or marker. Cut each end on one of the longer pieces into forked points like a ribbon; you can round the ends if you'd like or leave them untouched.

Take the long piece that you haven't cut and put a dab of hot glue on the mark you've made. Fold each end into the centre where you've added the glue.

Now put a small dab of hot glue in the centre and squeeze together to make a bow. Don't put too much because it will leak out as you squeeze.

Now use more hot glue to secure your bow to the ribbon piece.

Lastly, use a dab of hot glue on the back side and fix the paperclip to it, make sure the opening of the paperclip is facing away from the bow. Then use your last piece of felt and secure the paperclip and bow together; this will hide any seams and make sure your paperclip and bow are secure.

You're done! Try different sizes, colours, and patterns of felt.
